Clark family photos from Crieff, 2010

These photos relate to the Clark family in Crieff.  For more information, see this earlier post.

The gravestone in Crieff graveyard, of William Clark (Baker) and his wife Jane McKeith. Erected by their children.

Also in the area are gravestones for David Clark and John Clark (& his wife Jessie).

Here's 26, Commissioner St, Crieff (where William & Jane Clark lived in 1891):

And next a pair of images showing 11 & 13 Milnab St, Crieff.
(The Clark family lived there in 1871 and 1881.)

Here's a view of the Gallowhill area - still locally known as Gallowhaugh.  The gallows tree is still there. Burrell St is heading off to the right.

And finally, a closer view of (possibly) Gallowhaugh House in Crieff - it has the street sign on it.
(The Clark family of weavers lived here in 1851.)

Crieff was immortalised by William McGonagall in his poem "Crieff"
"Ye lovers of the picturesque, if ye wish to drown your grief,
Take my advice, and visit the ancient town of Crieff."
