I was very impressed with your website and especially the family charts that included the photographs. I never saw such a family chart on the World Wide Web before. Yours must be a first. Congratulations!

"Hi Lisa

Thanks for the link [to pages about Henry Sennett]. It's very interesting and you've obviously worked really hard on your site. I have put it into my favourites so that my sister can see it when she comes over ... later in the year. You are very lucky to have some great old photos and paper clippings, it helps so much to bring it all to life doesn't it?"

Dear Lisa,

Thanks for your note and, indeed, linking us to your web site. It's interesting to read the family history and to see some great photos of Ivy and Max. We remember them with much fondness and can never begin to repay them for the work they did on behalf of the Association. Incidentally, we have just had our 40th anniversary concert this weekend with Nigel Ogden,
our President, from BBC Radio 2's 'The Organist Entertains'. As part of the concert John Heslop prepared a slide presentation, including a number of photos of Ivy and Max.

I hope you don't mind me passing your web site URL to the NETOA Committee for their interest.

Regards,

Richard Openshaw, NETOA

"What a blast from the past! I could remember houses, the Mill, and visiting aunts and uncles etc. but many people's names had disappeared into oblivion. You obviously put a lot of work into that."

"The photos on your blog make such a difference - and you've got some smashers."

Dear Lisa
Just wanted to acknowledge the fine piece of work you have produced....
The others are probably stunned (like me) by the extent of your research and sensitive style in which the report has been written.

Keep up the good work !
Best wishes

Alastair

"I liked to look at the pictures" {I might not be remembering all he said, but that was the gist!!}

Now I'm blushing!!

Thanks to all the visitors to this site... No point telling the story of our ancestors if no-one is listening!! Makes the work all the more worthwhile if the stories of our Ancestors are not forgotten, so please do make use of the photos/data here. Just let me know if you're reproducing something elsewhere, eh?

Visitors come from all over the world: Britain, of course!; France, Spain, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

Viewed the statistics recently, having set-up a StatCounter on the site - very encouraging total at around 4000 hits (and no, I haven't been cheating by visiting the site every 5 minutes from different PC's!).  I post up my number of hits, purely so that those with a greater number of hits on their site may feel better about themselves.

Of all the visitors over the last month, 24% have stayed here for more than an hour, and 11% have stayed for 20-60 minutes. So you see, you are not alone!!
